Build-a-Bike Blog

This is a picture of me, on my birthday, May 9, 2017.  Just a "normal" day of teaching; attending to students, grading some papers and sewing some costumes.  I love my job, even the busy weeks.  But, all things being equal, especially this week, I would rather have been biking!

When I moved to NYC 10 years ago, I sold my car and bought a bike.  It was a decision I do not regret.  It has provided me with easy transportation about town and a fun "escape" when I have the chance.

This blog began as the narration of an adventure I had been planning for over a year prior to June 2017.  It has been a year already since I took off on my "cross country" bike ride.  I returned in August of 2017 and headed back to work, with the experiences and memories filling my screen saver and stories for those who've asked.

I had planned to shut down the site when I returned.  I never got around to it.  Now that Summer 2018 has arrived, I have found a new adventure.  One, however, that will keep me closer to home.  

​

I decided to build a new bike - with used parts.  It is mostly out of necessity, but will nevertheless prove to be exciting.  I've "resurrected" this blog to keep me entertained and you posted, if you're interested.  Let me know what you think.
