A taste of Summer

The plan was to get my bike ride in and be home before noon, or the latest by 1pm (Tiger game was on TV today!). Well, not quite. Let me tell you why.
Left a little late, still within parameters, but I left without eating a decent breakfast. "No problem," I thought, "a friend knows where there is a good bagel place on the way. I'll stop there and move along." It was a good idea, but even before I got there, I bypassed a different place & saw a friend in the window. So I stopped there instead, for some breakfast "to stay". It was a lovely break, 15 min into my ride.😋
In our conversation, Jason suggested a different path into the city. I was in an adventurous mood, so I took the route. All went well until I missed the sign that I was assured "I couldn't miss". After a few wrong turns & doubling back, i found the bridge and made it into the city. After a bathroom break & reorienting myself, I made it to Central Park for a loop before lunch.
Not so fast, Kathy! As soon as i made it to the "quiet" of the park, I noticed the flat tire.😥 So I walked my bike to three places before I found an air pump. (I had the new innertube & tools.) Kristal let me change my tire in her bike rental area (southwest corner of the park - if you are ever there, she'll treat you well). By the time I was done, found a place to wash up, and buy some lunch it was 1:00. So, change of plans!
I enjoyed my lunch inside the park with the Tiger game on mlb.com instead. I kept it running as I took my loop of the park & headed home. Made it here before the rain began to fall.
I have a feeling, the twists & turns I experienced today will be the norm on my trip this summer. Today was a good reminder that, the Lord provides!🙂
