Day 1 - again...

Hello again! Don't know how often or long-lasting this 2nd edition blog will be. I will figure it out as I go along.

A year ago, I decided that I would shut down this blog. I never got around to it. When this summer rolled around and people started asking me, "Where are you going THIS summer?" I had to explain that I wasn't traveling again (at least by bike), but I was planning on building a bike. The reaction is usually surprise and interest. Because I had so much fun last summer (biking and blogging), I decided to add the blog to the building as well.

The adventure has already begun. Without too much detail to drag things out, the used bike gifted to me 9 years ago, refitted for my ride last summer, never really fit my body. On top of that, about a month ago, some of the parts started rattlin' more than they should. It was a sure sign that my plan to "eventually" build a bike that fit me "perfectly" should materialize sooner than later. So, June 4, the first Monday of the month, was the day I went in to begin the process.

The first step was to service the borrowed bike I'll be using until my new one is ready to go. You see, I'll be re-using some of the parts of the bike that served me so well last summer. I won't be able to ride it in the process. So, thank you, Bekah, for the loan.
