One week to go...

Several good things happened today.

1) I found my way to and from Douglaston Golf course on my bike to help out with our school fundraiser.

2) A friend offered me an old cell phone of hers so I do not need to add that extra expense to my list. I'll have smart phone capabilities within the week, finally! Thanks!

2) I made it home before the rain came.

3) I watched the thunderstorm from my couch. It was a fun reminder of watching storms in the mid-west coming across the fields. But also a healthy reminder to keep an eye on the weather this summer. I won't have such easy access to my couch over the next 6 weeks, and don't want to get stuck outside in rain like that!

Other than that, I am getting more details processed for the tour. One week from right now, I'll be on my way to Toledo, OH by train. Once there, I'll hop on a bus to Dearborn, MI and hang with my sister and her family for a bit. Then I'll head up to visit with some friends in the Saginaw Valley area. I'll be back home in time for Dad's birthday day and visit for the weekend with the family and friends that are coming for that event. Starting on July 3, I will start biking south toward Indianapolis. A friend of a friend is also willing to host me along the way! Thanks to all involved!

Thank you for continued prayers for me as I finish up the details of planning, making wise purchasing choices, logical packing arrangements, and continued training to reach that magical 50 miles in a day. : }
