Day 5 - taking stock

The calm before the storm, in more ways than one.

Today was a nice easy day at home with the 'rents. Dad's birthday celebration was a simple dinner out with Sheila & Rich. Activity picks up tomorrow when various friends and family start trickling in for the party on Sunday. I'll take tomorrow to finish up some shopping for essentials for my trip. Sunday is the party. Monday I depart from the Detroit area, heading toward Indianapolis.

The weather reports are suddenly of great interest to me. I've looked ahead to Toledo, Defiance, and Fort Wayne. Long term forecast mentions threat of thunderstorms each day I am to be on the road. I'd appreciate any extra prayers for favorable weather along the way - and a level head and the patience to wait out any storm I encounter!

The Tiger game was postponed tonight, so I'm mapping out my route for Monday-Wednesday in front of the Astros/Yankees game instead. After the weekend, I'll have a better understanding of what comes next after Indianapolis, so stay tuned for an update when I have the time to sort it out.
