(very early in the A.M. hours of Monday morning)
After a few days with friends and settling into vacationing, it took some energy to re-adjust and re-pack tonight. Good thing the Tigers had the ESPN game today for some background entertainment. I spent the afternoon planning & plotting my next leg (notice the other recent post). I also took advantage of access to a laptop to edit the website & add some pictures. You can check those out by navigating the menu above.
My hosts must get back to normal with the work week starting up tomorrow, so I will head out in the morning again for the next leg of the journey. I am excited to test my camping gear. I am praying that it does not rain! 🏕🤗
Thank you for your prayers for:
-the Sass family, who just lost their father to cancer today, and the Zion Lutheran Church & School community as they mourn
-those riding in the RAIN (Ride Across Indiana) next weekend. I met one of the participants on the bike path yesterday. I was finishing up 6 miles while he was on mile #98 for the day, shooting for 120. More power to him!
-continued good weather and health on the ride
And let me say this... I have meant to add this to the blog several times already. If I don't do it now while I am thinking of it, you will "never" know what I'm thinking...
A little advice for cross-country cyclist wannabes: When it is time to find a place to stop, search out a babbling brook and/or a shade tree. The noise of the running water and the rustle of the leaves helps to mask the sound of cars speeding by, directs your attention to the birds and the butterflies instead of the potholes and the heat rising from the asphalt, and calms the beating heart and quick breath. 10 to 20 minutes under the influence is enough to get you back on the saddle again for the next stretch of road.
On that note, I offer a contented sigh and say, "G'nite!"
