Day 19 - The Lake House Retreat

Back on the road again. But, this is only the second day I've biked since last Thursday, July 6. Basically, this "cross-country bikeride" deserves the airquotes! 😊 Thanks to my brother's kick start to my day, the 40 short miles it took to get here spanned only 6 hours (with 2 hours break for food and sites along the way) I arrived at the lake house early, but was met by Myah & V.J. very graciously anyway.
Let me see... what happened today?
1) I abandoned the back roads when I ran into a gravel road again. Took the highway straight into Pana
2) took a water/snack break at a cross road with a big shade tree. I noticed a "keep off - private property" sign up on one side of the street and a cute little adirondack chair with a "welcome" sign and flowers by it across the street. I thought about the messages I would want others to read in my front yard...
3) there a MANY fewer driveways (private or public) off a highway than a back country road...
4) V.J. shared that her husband & son-in-law were concerned about her hosting a strange "biker" overnight, (just as some of you might have been concerned about me staying in the woods by a lake with someone I didn't know.)
5) Getting to a lake house early allows time to float in the lake before dinner! 😃
So, another successful day completed. I am thanking God for a safe ride, an internet connection, a lovely afternoon of rest & good conversation, a comfortable bed and a reason to get up in the morning.
