Day 24 & 25 - prep day

It has been awesome to spend the days here with the Adlers. But now it is time to refocus again to the next leg of the trip. I'm heading to Jacksonville tomorrow morning by way of Amtrak through Springfield. One cool thing I've discovered today is that the Wayne Tomhave Farm is a "place" on Google Maps! And that's my next stop. I get to spend the weekend there with family and then pass through Chicago, for more time with more family, and then on to Milwaukee, to visit some friends.

So what happened on days 24 & 25?

It has been very relaxing and my friends have been very accommodating. I've watched some movies, played some cards, sat and chatted, hung with the dogs... It was great to talk with Robyn, another friend I haven't seen in 10 years. After a few days of all that sitting, I needed to move my legs again. So, Kirsten & I went to the theater room at the gym on Wednesday and I biked 10 miles without missing a beat of The Fugitive, awesome movie! This morning, before it hit 90 degrees, I worked my way through the subdivision on my way to the river park 5 miles away. Well, admittedly, the hills convinced me otherwise (see pictures in a few days) and I simple racked up 4.5 miles in and around the neighborhood. I'll save the real sweating for tomorrow after my train ride.

Sad to leave another friend behind, but looking forward to the visits that are coming next.

Stay cool, stay dry, stay focussed,

Peace!
