Day 27 - Memory Lane

I am writing this Sunday morning. Everyone wiped me out yesterday & I was asleep before I knew it...
It was another beautiful day, although they could do with some rain here in Jacksonville! So, after a late breakfast, Uncle Wayne picked me up & I was treated to a tractor tour of the farm. Now, of course, a tractor tour comes complete with an audio tour of the people, places, and experiences of the area. We drove around the lane, down by the creek, & around back, where they hope to add another structure for the hay bails. But , of course, we also looked closely at the tractors & the equipment that help run the place.
Lunch took us into town and then another tour, with commentary, of the area & the old Witte (not Witto) homestead. The day concluded with a cookout at Ben's and more stories.
There was just a lot of visiting, exactly what I expect & and enjoy here.
So, feeling quite well-fed, and caught up on family folklore, I am sad to have to pack up once again today. But I am comforted to be heading toward more of the same family & stories when I hit Chicago.
So, gotta go, have to leave for church in an hour... enjoy your day as it unfolds! Peace!
