Day 29 - real conversations

Started as a lazy day. More conversation with Karen and plans to either ride down Lake Shore Drive or a local park or just sit and watch the game on TV. The decision was finally to take a "quick" ride to the local park and be back in time to chill with the game and then meet my cousin for dinner. Had to take the bike out of Rick's car and re-build it (front wheel was off to fit...).
Good thing I checked the breaks after I re-attached them. When I did, the noodle broke in half. Had that happened on the road, I would not have been able to stop. Needless to say, I did not get a bike ride in. I won't bore you with all the details. The end result is that I now have a brand new V-brake for my front wheel, and an extra set of break pads in case I need them on the road. The crew at "Blue City Bike" (on Halstead & 32nd - check 'em out, they'll hook you up) was very helpful and attentive to my stress of getting the bike in working order ASAP. I'll be ready to hit the road again on Wednesday.
Thanks to Rick for driving me to and fro with the bike in the back! It's at times like this that I understand clearly how loved I am.
The rest of the day consisted of the White Sox victory over the Cubs, dinner at Giordonos (this time I got Pizza!), and a wonderful (albeit quick) visit with cousin Phil and Rich.
Just putting this out there... What was the last real conversation you had? What did you say? What did you learn? May today be filled with authenticity and understanding for you!
