Day 31 - One month on the road!

I can't believe that I've been away from home a month already. It feels like I just left. Then again, I could also be convinced that this is what I've been doing for my regular routine for at least a year.

I decided to spend an extra day in Chicago because of the rain that is coming through tonight into tomorrow morning. Now I am praying that the rain will end soon enough for me to leave at a regular time in the morning. : }

I enjoyed my breakfast this morning with my nephew at Bridgeport Restaurant. I got a few miles on the bike this morning to rev myself up for tomorrow's road trip. I spent some lazy hours chatting and planning after that. Then, before I knew it, it was dinner time. Karen & I walked to the Mexican place down the road - well worth it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, catching up with my nephew, cousin, aunt & uncle. There's no way around it. When there is more time to spend, there is more learned about each other, and from each other. What a blessing real conversation is!

Now, what's in front of me is another night of packing and organizing. I have a pretty smooth path of bike routes heading north of Chicago toward Milwaukee, by way of Racine tomorrow. Looking forward to some Lake Michigan vistas and hoping for wind at my back.

Praying that your day is smooth sailing ahead!
