Day 35 - A day in the life...

All day long, every day, I am composing this blog... or, at the very least, wondering if I should put "that" in there... Regardless, I never know what I'm going to say until I say it. I am happy to hear from some of you that you are enjoying my ramblings.
I've never lived with a 4-year-old (except when I was 4 and 5, and that certainly doesn't count as having any decent perspective on the matter!). Over the last month, I've been living with all sorts of ages and temperaments that I am not used to having around 24/7. And, to be fair, all of my hosts have been putting up with a 50-year-old who is used to doing what she wants when she wants to. So, you might say, I am experiencing the down & dirty, nitty-gritty of life. Especially when I am here for several days in a row. The hostness wares off and the kids get comfortable and we all settle in to ourselves.
35 days is a long time to be away from home, in others' homes, alone and together, etc, usw!
Someone asked me the other day, "Do you miss your bed?" I hadn't thought of that. I was somewhat surprised, and afterwards strangely happy with my answer. "No." Someone else asked me, "Has it been what you expected?" That allowed me to reflect and I gave this answer, "I was prepared for the physical expenditure and weariness. But I did not expect to be so warn out from visiting!" I know you are all gathering your own conclusion based on my answer to these questions. I've had several of my own recently. But today, right now, this is mine... This trip HAS been what I expected. And that's good.
The visits, the reflections, the random strangers, the weather, the food, the time alone and the time together, the bad hotels and the luxury accommodations, the visits that are behind me and the visits that are yet to come (even all the packing and unpacking!), all of it has been a blessing to me.
I've got so many other things I was going to say, but there is no easy segue into the next. So, there you have it. Life it good. : )
Today I thank God for:
-churches around the world that are sharing Christ-crucified
-the Interurban Bike Trail that connects Grafton and Cedarburg
-8-year-olds that know how to make french toast
-cats that respond when you tell them to get off the bed
-ICE CREAM!!
-the love of family and friends, who know me as "Kathy" (or "Aunt Kathy")
May you also see the good that God has blessed you with, today!
