Day 37 - Ahhhhhh!

It has been a day. After last night's marathon scheduling session, I was up early trying to organize for today and tomorrow. My bags were packed a whole hour early and I was looking forward to more time to visit with my friends before I said goodbye. But, instead, another friend called to share some sad news. Therefore, I used that time to listen and comfort. When we said goodbye, it was also good to have my friends there to comfort me. It made for a somber beginning for another day, alone in my thoughts.
The beauty of the day and the ease of travel helped me put things back in perspective. I spent some time in scripture, had a pleasant conversation with my neighbor on the ship, found the campsite easily, got back into town for some food and another conversation about education and politics - also pleasant. šAnd now, I am sitting by the water, talking to you, and listening to my Tigers...ahhhhh!

Today I thank God for:
-3 run leads in the top of the 1st
-sunsets over Lake Michigan
-girlfriends who know how to make me laugh!
-the feeling of home
The sadness still lingers, but blessings do, too. Psalms 34:8-9 offered me comfort earlier today, I pray it can encourage you as well.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. (NIV)
