Day 50 - hills

Good thing I did not start my trip in Washington! There are a few hills out here on the way to and from the mountains. I needed the weeks in the flat lands to be more ready to attack these hills out here. Once again, I wish the service here would be more compatible with my phone to be able to share my pictures more quickly. But those of you who are faithful readers will be able to see them as soon as I post. (And those of you just catching this one, come on back for more...) For now, trust me, pretty impressive! : )
So, I enjoyed a short jaunt through the back roads of Rosalia, WA this morning. Then later in the day took a shorter ride with Quinn, downhill to the end of the road and uphill back home. But that's OK, because the number of stops on the road to recover and refresh, offered more opportunity to observe and explore.
Things I learned today:
- uphill against the wind is more difficult than downhill with the wind.
- Snowball likes slippers and he doesn't give them up so easily
- it's difficult to get any points in Scrabble if you have A, I, O, I, O, U, A in your queue! (three rounds in a row!)
- one can see a whole lot more from the top of the hill than the valley
Today, I thank God for:
- people who know who I am
- sun shine
- trail mix and ice cream
- paved roads after gravel
- vistas from above
- time to talk
Another day tomorrow with the girls and grandpa. Then, Wednesday, I move along to the last leg of the trip.
